MUENZ, KEVIN GAT Life Member - 2008
Coach Muenz has been involved in the sport of gymnastics as an athlete, coach, judge and administrator for over 50 years. As an athlete he competed at the high school level in the Chicago, Illinois area and attended Southern Illinois University on a collegiate scholarship. Bill Meade, (Southern Illinois University Coach) was the inspiration in Kevin deciding to choose a career in education and coaching. Currently, he is working at Brandenburg Middle School in Garland, teaching gymnastics and coaching the middle school and high school teams. As an administrator Kevin was the USAG Men's State Chairman for 25 years, the Texas High Schools Men's VP for 6 years and is currently the President of the Texas Gymnastics Judges Association and the NGJA Region 3 Judging Director. As a judge, Kevin has been fortunate enough to judge NCAA Championships, USAG Championships, Olympic Trials, Collegiate Nationals, YMCA Nationals, JD/JO Nationals, Texas High School State Meet, the Olympic Festival and the highly regarded Garland Classic. Kevin has been married for 35 years, has 3 adult children, 2 of which are FIG rated judges, and a dog called Biscuit.
